![]() ![]() Being involved in the strategic leadership and management of a very happy, yet academically ambitious prep school with a fantastic tradition and culture really motivates me. I’m currently Deputy Headmaster at Ludgrove and I love the great variety of it. What is your current role and what do you love about it? While continuing to support the growth, learning and development of our fabulous students I have the opportunity to take on a greater ambassadorial role to prospective parents, sharing the knowledge, insights and direction of this wonderful college.This interview is designed to give the Orwell Park School community a brief insight into Guy and what motivates him. Jim has been at Ardingly for eight years. Jim describes the Prep School’s atmosphere as "captivating" and says: “I am so looking forward to this important leadership position. Jim Castle, our current Prep School Deputy Headmaster, will be interim Headmaster of Ardingly College Prep School after the current HM flies the nest at the end of the Summer Term. The World Ready initiative is one that sits closely with my educational philosophy and I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead." Reflecting on his appointment, Mr Hastings commented, "It is an extremely exciting time to become part of Ardingly College. Harry is married to Kate, a consultant anaesthetist at Brighton Hospital, and they will be moving to Ardingly with their children, Lizzie (11), Barney (9) and Rex (5). He has an educational vision closely aligned to ours, and is committed to the inclusive and all-round education that Ardingly offers. He has taught at both boarding and day schools, including the Dragon School in Oxford and Cumnor House. Mr Hastings is currently the Head of Brighton College Prep School. Harry Hastings has been appointed Head of the Prep School from January 2018.
